About the Show |
The poet Ezra Pound made inflammatory radio broadcasts from Italy during WWII. After the war he was captured, held in a Guantanamo Bay style pen, and transported to the U.S. where he was held in a military insane asylum without trial until his release in 1958. This play gives Pound the trial he never had, with the audience as the jury, in the process exploring the boundaries between free speech and treason. |
